Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is enjoying their Friday night and is not getting to overwhelmed with finals upon us. For those of you who have already had finals and are all done, you are some lucky ducks! I just thought I would post some exciting updates!!
First off I would like to officially announce what this year's district theme is! Drum roll please............. Exercising Your Right to Serve!! Break out the workout clothes, and water bottles as you gear up to prepare for an exciting year of exercising your right to serve!! We hope that you are as excited as we are to get your hands dirty, sweat a little, and perform a ton of service!! Keep an eye out for different promotional ways we are going to implement this theme. In particular incentives for your club to perform the most service in the district. We are currently coming up with ideas as to how we can reward each club for different milestones they make while exercising their rights to serve! Keep in mind though that your club will not be able to be recognized if you don't turn in your MRF's!! So lets get out their and start Exercising our Right to Serve!!
Second Large Scale Service Project and International Convention is right around the corner. I really hope most of you can join me on the journey down to St. Louis, MO where you will truly have an experience of a lifetime! Just a reminder that early registration is due June 1st!! Don't forget to get it in as soon as possible! If you are worried about the cost you can contact your club president and get a sample letter to give your Kiwanis to ask them for support! It is well worth every penny! For more information on LSSP or ICON go to circlek.org!
Also our Special Events Chair, Lyssa Bergstrom has put together a fabulous package that all of the WUM members will be eligible to partake in. You get a ton of site seeing opportunities and food for $50! So be watching for the order forms for this!!
Lastly K-Family Brewer Game will be August 28, when the Brew Crew will be taking on the Pittsburgh Pirates!! Tickets will be $20 with $5 going to the Kiwanis World Wide Service Project! The order forms will be out very very soon and I hope to see all of you there! How much more fun could you ask for, a day with your K-family, baseball, and supporting a good cause!!
Hope you all have a great weekend! If your going to be in the Eau Claire area on Sunday you should come out to the Eau Claire clubs K-family Piknik! It is going to be a blast!! Good luck on finals!
In Service
Jill
